I'm guessing that you are on PC. The Revolution maps have been in the normal rotation for consoles since it came out.
As the micro stuff goes, I only support what interests me. If the micro does then I'll buy and if it doesn't then I won't. It has nothing to do with any higher sense of anything. I put it in the same wheelhouse of why did I buy the game. It's because I like it and find it a good enough value to make the purchase.
